Canon 5D pr 7D

Im new to DSLR and dont really know that much abou them. I have a Panasonic HPX300 and was entertaining the idea of selling it and buying a Canon DSLR. If someone wouldn't mind telling me alittle bit about the two and which would be best for filming Features/Shorts/Commercials and what gear I would need for them (i.e. audio mixer, matte box, follow focus, etc...)

I would be forever in your debt. and I have a question. I was looking at the specs for the 5D and 7D on b&h and it says they only record 4GB of HD footage, is that all the camera can hold or can I record to an external deck or a bigger memory card.

I also have been told that the 5D can record 4K or 5K is that true?

I mean honestly...there's about 80 threads on all this. Do a few searches you'll find all you need to know. And no, no 4k or 5k.
