hi all,

i am planning to buy canon 5d mark iii with kit lens 24-105 f4L and also 50mm 1.8. i know f4 is not good for low light but will mark iii compensate the low light incapabilities of f4 since i can push iso on mark iii since it is said that mark iii give good results even at higher iso without noise.

i will also get 50mm 1.8 for low light shots and for tele shots i wish u use 24-105 f4. at full tele @ 105 f4 plus higher iso of mark iii, will i be able to get good usable footage?

kindly advice,

regards,

i just want to add further more to the question above. i have canon xh a1s, with the camera and lens kit mentioned above (5d mark iii + 24-105 f4) will i get better result in low light compared to my canon xha1s which on full wide gives me aperture of f1.6?

You'll get better results than with your XHA1 for sure. To really make the 5D sing, it's a good idea to have a few nice primes to shoot with though.

Better low light than a 5DMK3? I don't think so...

My XHA1 was super noisy in low light conditions.

I have use a 5d3 & 5d2 for wedding 5d2 have the 24-105 5d3 have the tarom 24-70 2.8 both was set to 6400 and i dont see any noise in both camera and the 24-205 f4 was good enough that i bought 1 for the 5d3. Now i am new to 5d's i was using gh2 and f4 on that camerawould be bad in low light i only have 2 shoots with 5d3 but have been practicing in the dark night street scene and i like how it looks with24-105 f4 lens.

Whoa!! Sorry, miss posted that big time! You'll get better results with the Mark3 for sure. I had an A1 for years and the image is WAY behind the mark3. You can't even really compare the 2 in my opinion.
