canon 5d mark II to import to final cut 6.

I'm having problems importing video from the markII to final cut 6. when I CONNECT THE FIRE WIRE CABLE TO THE CAM IT DISABLES THE VIDEO IN THE CAM. FINALCUT IS NOT RECOGNIZING IT. CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME THEIR WORKFLOW FOR THIS.

Not sure this camera has firewire. Not sure why you need video on the camera while importing.

If you are connecting via usb, the CF card from the camera will mount on the desktop. Copy the .mov files from the card to your hard drive. You should be able to import the files from there.

Think still camera workflow, not video.

The 5D2 has no Firewire connection.

Final cut will not recognize the 5D2, nor should it, nor do you need it too !
