Canon 50mm f/1.4 seems to only shoot at f2.8 in video

Hello, please forgive if this has already been addressed. I recently purchased the Canon f/1.4 lens. It seems capable of shooting wide open for stills, but when I try to shoot video either in auto or manual modes, the widest I can get it is f/2.8. Wondering what I may be doing wrong. Other lenses I have e.g. f/4 28-105 and f/2.8 16-25 all shoot video wide open. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Are you in M mode on the mode dial?

If so, do you have an aperture of 2.8 selected?

Yes, I'm in M mode on the mode dial.
Aperture reads 2.8. Can't seem to get it to 1.4

Make sure your ON/OFF switch is toggled to the top selection. You have OFF then ON then a line that is curved at 45 degrees. Select the line, then use the dial to move aperture to 1.4.
