Canon 24-70mm f2.8 vs. 24-105mm f/4

If you're trying to decide between two lenses for video... one with IS and one without... I'd always go with the IS option.

ugh! If this lens was a 2.8, I would have no troubles with my decision.
Its that its at f/4 bothers me. I know I will need to use a wider aperture than that.

Is there any other lens out there that covers a similar range, have IS, and is 2.8 - or some other aperture below f/4 and be constant throughout?

^ The EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS is an excellent lens.

Yeah, but I'm looking for a wide-telephoto lens. This isn't that telephoto.
Although its no IS, the 24-70mm is not bad since its 2.8 and I can also add on the 70-200mm 2.8 to that in the future.
But, I guess I'll probably stick with the 24-105?
