Canon 24-70 2.8L focus ring play!?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone else has play in their focus ring on their lens. I took mine into Canon and they said that they could not get it any tighter. My copy moves about 0.5mm either way before it engages and starts focusing, could be a ***** with a follow focus. Just wondering if anyone has a copy with no play, for instance my 24-105 has no play whatsoever. Anyway what are people's experiences with this lens.

Ps my 24-70 is only 3 weeks old.

all canon AF lens sucks for VDO. nice picture but sucks to operate. I got the same problem with 24-70 F2.8

is the color of the new canon 24-70 L white? i have the new b&h catalog that i just got in the mail and it shows that the 24-70 is white.

Maybe mislabeled. I haven't seen it in white yet even on the canon site. Canon tends to reserve their white lenses for telephotos and and telephoto zooms.
