Cannot proceed message when swithing the gain

Hello guys! Perharps I don;t understund something but why I'm having "cannot proceed" message when I'm trying to change Gain control knob? Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong please? :undecided
 
i had this pop up, and couldnt figure out why either. i ended up re-setting the camera to factory default which fixed it.
 
I dont have the camera or the manual with me now but there is a setting in the menu options that disables the gain/wb buttons. Check from the manual and switch that to required setting.

yes, stevet is right ... it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out ... i was like "AW COME ON WHATS WRONG WITH THIS THING!" ... but yeah, DIRECT MENU, and select PART ... I'm not at the camera at the moment, but enabling this also allows you to swap between white balances by hitting the knob (next to the gain)

Stevet ... always beatin me to the punch.
 
Very many thanks for answering this question. I almost went insane going through manual without any luck.
