Cannes Movie Festival - May 10th

Flying out to France to attend the Cannes Movie Festival this year.
I'm leaving from San Francisco and had couple questions for people who have traveled to Europe with a camera equipment.

1. Do i have to Register My DVX at customs so i don't pay taxes on it when i return?
2. How many blank tapes should I take for a 2 months journey through europe.
(Bringing a 1tb drive, hoping to dump footage every night)
3. Just purchased 20 Sony DVC tape from costco. Wondering if these tapes are bad and I should purchase another brand. ( or can i use a blank one of these tapes to clean the head, and only use these 20 DVC tapes when I'm over in Europe.)

I've never been to Europe so I can't help you with that but for tapes, stick with the brand you've used before.
Sony uses wet tapes so do not mix it with other brands. it could mess up the heads on the dvx.

I usally use 1 tap a day for a film shoot but it all depends of what you shoot
