Is it safe to blow canned dust lightly into the tape compartment of the dvx? Ive noticed a few pieces of dust gathering in there. However, i think it might risk blowing them into the heads and messing things up... Anyone know if this is safe or a better way to remove dust? (its not on the heads, just on the inner compartment)

Well, I would use canned air rather than canned dust, but that's just me.

Smart ass comments aside - I believe there is a type of canned air that is designed for electronics with a fluid that does not conduct electricity. I've heard others use that with no battery on the camera and wait 48 hrs. (or a day or something like that) before powering on the camera just in case any fluid made its way into the electronic parts. Maybe someone will chime in with the name of the product.

well i work for a computer company and we use this perticular brand all the time, and its called "CANNED dust" (creating a play on words by "canning" *getting rid of* the dust) So perhaps your not as witty as you thought ;) lol. I spray it on motherboards, graphics cards, raid cards without any problems, im just perticularly worried about the dust particles getting blow deaper into the camera.
