Canadian Camera

Re: Canadian Camera

i just realized i have a canada camera as well....But I dont care...its the same thing...But the question with getting it fixed, do I have to send it to Canada for it to be covered under warrenty

Re: Canadian Camera

OMG Billy, be prepared for the wrath of sarcasm, bad jokes, and condescention from this bunch. Plenty of comments and attacks but nothing that resembles an answer. It could be that their SARS is flaring up again.

Re: Canadian Camera

BigWilly1231, yes in all likelyhood, you would need to send it to Canada, but as numerous products purchased in Canada must be sent to the US for warrenty repairs, I can't see that this would be any problem.

Re: Canadian Camera

Being Canadian I have the misfortune of buying a US DVX 100.

I feel I have done wrong to my country and sovernty.
I recently have been banished from all hockey rinks, and Canadian socialist meetings(which we are so good at).

And now I have to play road hockey by myself using the lens cap as a puck...the socailists won't even let me use a puck.

also the DVX color gamma seems to have a strong red/white and blue look to it on a Canadian NTSC monitor.

I feel like a gray market traitor...

Re: Canadian Camera

I recently noticed my camera shooting without asking for input from the director & DP. Guess I've got the American model?

Re: Canadian Camera

Furthermore, be sure which version you've got the english one or the french version, who gona have the french operating instructions translated by japanese to getting it all mixed up. Kind of "poutine", by the way, if you have a chance, try this delightful "junk", it's make Mcdo look like health food. ;D :D

Re: Canadian Camera

The Thing I love most about my Canadian DVX is that it will record in either french or english... really opens up the market. as far as warranty goes I dropped mine on its lense so that it would neither focus or zoom. It was shipped to panasonic Canada where it was repaired and returned in perfect working condition at no cost to me. Many thanks to the people at pannasonic!!! ;)

Re: Canadian Camera, American Camera, French Camer

Just realized there could be techoxenophobia rising among machines on this planet! I'm canadian, live in france and just got an american DVX100A! I can tell you there ARE differences between models from different countries! When I playback my tapes on tv, my "american camera" just plays some parts of what I shot, like a convenient weird edit, the rest is missing, all the important details and dialogues are scrambled and the worst is... often rushes tapes are missing!

Thank god I didn't get a japanese camera though, at least my dialogues are in sync with the lips!

Re: Canadian Camera

Sweet! - ;D ;D

Re: Canadian Camera

;D

TC - Whats the deal with "Family Guy" ??? ??? I was looking online to see when the new shows are going to run and .... :'( ... 2005 ? I dont want to wait ANOTHER year! >:(

Re: Canadian Camera

Sadly this looks to be true, it will be a while. They've released the names of the first 13 episodes on the official website. (http://www.fox.com/familyguy/) They've recorded a CD that could POSSIBLY be released in Febuary. Don't forget about American Dad, Seth McFarlane's new show that will be hitting the air around the same time as Family Guy come back.

Be sure to check out http://stewiesminions.com for the latest Family Guy news. Exciting!

Re: Canadian Camera

Stewie could (nay - SHOULD) have his own show!

I been walking around for months with the misguided notion it was coming back THIS year. It’s a cartoon – Bang em’ out, lets go.
