Can you use the electronic shutter on the GH2 for timelapse shots?

I've been shooting a lot of timelapse stuff lately (using an intervolometer) and I was wondering if it's possible to use the electronic shutter so the camera won't make some much noise. Does anyone know if this is possible? Sometimes I'm shooting in a croweded area and I don't want to annoy the people around me.

I think it is possible. Set the camera up for SH burst mode, set the beep level for SH burst to muted, and you are ready to go.
Depending on how long the intervalometer will close the shutter circuit, you may wind up with more than picture at each activation.
As you may know the pixel size will be set to S in this case.

Good luck.

though one of the nice things about using stills for timelapses is the extra resolution so you can zoom and pan in post while still having 1920x1080. in this 's' mode (only mode for SH burst), the res is set at 1920x1080. not the worst for a static timelapse, though would be really nice to have a full res stills with electronic shutter - at least for the quiet factor. though must say, the shutter is not terribly loud and you could create some sound proofing blimp of sorts as the camera probably produces very little heat taking a still every 2 or 10 seconds.

Do you use some sort of clamp to hold the shutter button down or is there someway to keep the burst going without dedicating your thumb to button pressing for an hour or more.
