Can you use the Atomos Ninja as a monitor?

I was thinking about getting an Atomos Ninja when I get my FS camera.

I noticed that the Ninja has monitor display capabilities. I would not be using it to monitor anything critical like focus. It would simply serve as a monitor for the director to look at during shots. Basically, just so the others involved can see the shot.

Is the Ninjas display capable of something like that?

I'm just trying to cut down on gear. I guess why have an extra field monitor for director viewing purposes only, when you can use the Ninja to record 4:2:2 and also serve as a monitor for other people.

But since I don't have either, I'm seeing what you guys think.

I have a Samurai and if the Ninja screen is as bad as the one on the Samurai I would say no. Better get a SmallHD or Marshall monitor.

I would say good enough for "director monitor" purpose but not more.
