When I'm shooting video on my d810 using an external monitor via HDMI, Live View shuts down after about 10 minutes (faster under very hot lights). I've talked to Nikon (and some of you) about it at length, and there's nothing wrong with the camera; it's supposed to shut down to protect its inner circuits.
External recorders are not the solution either, as they depend on the camera's Live View.
So, does anybody know if d850 can stay longer in Live View than d810 during video recording, using an external monitor? I ask because I could imagine d850 might be more robust in handling high temperatures, given it's 4k (I'm staying at 1080p, however).
And if not, does anyone happen to know if Sony A7r iii might be better at this? (I'd prefer the Nikon, but I simply need a reliable Live View feed.)
Thank you!
