Can you see a difference when viewing on your hd tv between 720 and 1080.
I would assume when editing, you have more room if you need to do a zoom or crop in the software.

If this has been talked about already, sorry, but you can let me know so I can read up on it.

the reason I ask, is I read somewhere that the HMC150 really shines in 720, and little to no difference in 1080 settings, they say the 720 setting looks better then the 1080.
hmmm, is this true?
I really am close to buying this camera.

HMC150 is better in 1080, period. It's not as super-sharp as some of the sharpest cameras, but there is still a difference, and there's a big boost in chroma sampling for more accurate color reproduction.

If you need the "live" look, I say go for 720/60p over 1080/60i, as progressive is just better than interlaced, always. But for 24p or 30p, definitely go 1080.

Agreed. More latitude for editing and rendering down the line, even to 720p for final output.
