Can you output onto Blue Ray disk?

I am enjoying the 30 day demo of MC5 and have not found a section on outputting to DVD or Blue Ray disk. Does anyone know the proceedure?

The Avid software...the FULL bundle that comes when you buy it (not part of the demo), includes DVD authoring software. But, it's PC only. The MC package doesn't contain Mac DVD authoring software, and doesn't include any software for authoring BluRay disks. For that you need additional software.

But if you have the software, can you export from Avid at a specific resolution that enables you to burn a blu ray disk that is full quality?

If so, what type of file would you export?

Yes, you can. And the type of file would be somewhat depending on what I was planning to do. But I would likely export a QT Reference file to Squeeze, then let squeeze handle compressing the file the way I wanted it.

Export the quicktime reference and skip sorenson squeeze, import the reference into Avid DVD, set to 40,000kbs. Then write disc image - best transcoding method available.
