Can you get this look from the hmc150?

I am saving up for a camera to make snowboarding films and various other films, so I was originally planning on getting the hvx200 or hpx170, but then I found out about the hmc150 which was better for me because it was cheaper and no p2. The thing is in the majority of the hvx200/hpx170 snowboarding footage there is a professional look that I have not found yet in the hmc150 snowboard footage. The thing is I'm not sure if it's the camera or I'm just unlucky with watching the right footage. It seems like though all the footage I've watched with the hvx200 or the hpx170 have better color, more clean motion shot, and a more professional feel. Just so I can show you I will post some videos of snowboarding that do have the look I'm looking for shot from multiple different camera's and then I will show you the hmc150 footage that it doesn't have the look.

Footage that does have the look

The footage on the Hmc150 does look incredible but for some reason the rider doesn't stand out as much on the hmc150 footage, So what I want to know is can you get the type of footage I am looking for from the hmc150?

It looks to me like the difference was the professionalism in the approach to the footage that was shot. The HPX links-footage appear to be shot like they were intended to be in a professional production.

Conversely, the first HMC150 link opens with the title "test footage". The second link in HMC150 footage was shot in low-light, and to my eye looked pretty good.

The 3rd HMC150 vimeo footage looked very nice to me from a color standpoint, but I did not watch it all the way through. However, the small part I did watch appeared to rival the quality of the HPX footage.

The other big variable is the camera operator. One of the HMC150 links looks like the white balance was totally ignored, I think thatwas the second link.

I can't recommend the HMC150 over the HPX models because I just don't know enough, but to me the difference seemed to come from production value rather than outright camera quality.

I'm with Kenneth. The HPX videos are clearly meant to be more professional: they are better thought-out, edited, composed and almost certainly color corrected.

The HMC150 footage on the other hand is test footage, described as "messin' around". It's obviously not going to have as much care put into it.

Post-production color has a LOT to do with the look you get. So does playing with scene files. This was shot on the HMC-150: http://www.vimeo.com/5041210. This is straight out of the camera, too.

Finally, the HPX-170, HMC-150, and HVX-200A share the same imager. It's a slightly improved version of the sensor in the original HVX200, with slightly better low-light.

Hey Allen, I looked at the footage you linked to and it looks freakin' hot!

Would you share the scene file settings and other particulars of how the camera was configured for that shoot with me? For example was it PH mode, 1080P etc.?

I am new to Panasonic video cameras, and I am in the learning curve stage. Every bit helps!
