Can you demultiplex MXF file?

I would like to demultiplex the MXF file out of Clip Browser into its seperate video and audio streams (files), does anyone know a way to do this without recoding it? (PC based)

I saw that one but it appeared to create MXF files, not split them. I'll look a bit deeper

got the assets out, renaming the larger to .m2v got it recognised by my apps but the audio doesn't seem to be a wav file. Any ideas about the audio. All assets are just given the .stream extension.

I have been using the Snell and Wilcox MXF Desktop, which is now almost impossible to find or get. It's good to know we have something else, thanks Deti.

I've never made sense of the audio essence files from the demuxed .mxf, but the way around it for me, is to use the Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro encoder within Vegas Pro to render a separate audio track from the source mxf file.

Thanks, yep, that is a way I can do it with procoder too.

Here is one for the flip side, does any of these tools take multiple MXF files and join them into one? I have 4GB segmented files from the nanoFlash (cause it records to FAT32 partitions) that I would like to be able to easily join back into one contigeous file.

I tried the mxfgui but it wanted essence files as input, not mxf files.

I don't have an elegant way of joining together Mxf clips, but with Vegas Pro, you can at least join them losslessly by dropping them onto the timeline, and smart rendering back out to Mxf. Vegas will do this quickly without recompression. I would imagine you can do the same thing with Procoder.
