Can we use sound fx from Freesound.ius.upf.edu for use in our Hallows Fest entry? I've found some cool sounds I would like to use, but am reluctant if it is against the rules. The Freesound project seems like it is free provided appropriate credit is given to the author and the website.

Thanks

You can use them, just be sure to attribute the sound FX credit to it's creator. Freesound has a nifty feature that keeps track of all the stuff you've downloaded for crediting in projects.

Barry_S makes all fest rulings, but in general if you have permission from the author you can use it. If you can find a legal notice on that site that spells out what you just said (i.e., "freely usable provided credit is given") and you give that appropriate credit, then yeah it sounds like that'd be appropriate. But the onus is on you to make sure you comply.
