Hi,
If I buy an Imac i7core for Editing with FCP, and I connect a GRAID external hard drive via the firewire, can I then DAISEYCHAIN out of the firewire to my Panasonic DVCPRO VTR and all work flawless? Anyone do this? Will it work or do I have to buy a Mac Pro Tower?

Thanks

You can Daisy chain firewire devices. Performance will suffer some but you should be fine. BTW Apple still does not support firewire for FCP.

You may see spinning beach balls from time to time, but it's pretty common for people to daisy chain FW drives to edit from.

It will work, but I suggest you find the correct workflow. If you plan on connecting your camera for importing files then just import files and do nothing else on your computer and you will be fine.

Also FireWire was/is designed to be daisy changed up to 64 devices, now whether your computer can handle that is another story BUT that Imac i7 is a BEAST and you should be fine

peace
