unfortunately I forgot to save the file I did that in.
but basically, used the 3 way in fcp. I did desaturate a bit, a bit more in the first one. and using the eye droppers for the highs and mids, I balanced using what looked like what was supposed to be white in the quilt. and probably made some adjustments from there to get the skin tones as close to a good point. I'm pretty sure I also raised the mid level slider up a bit, and nudged the lows slider to get the blacks back a little.
I tend to use the 3 way corrector in multiple levels. like desaturating a bit more than you want , then apply the 3 way filter again and bring the saturation back up in this one. then do all my colour shifting in another one.
this possibly makes no sense to work this way in reality. I just happened to start working that way to keep track of what I was doing, and it looked to me to have a different effect on the results. but I am fully aware it might be all in my head.
all in all, whoever said it above, reshoot the scene if you can. your results will be better. but, if you can't, mess around with the 3 way corrector. it's a really good tool to get familiar with.
I hope I was helpful. my explanations tend to just ramble around. good luck.
