Can the P2 be used to shoot 480i?

I can't find the info on this in the book, and that would be handy for doing some SD shots of actors trying out for roles in the movie. I don't need to see them in HD, SD will be fine for casting shots and mini screen tests. That way I don't have to take a G4 and RAID HD with me. If so, how much time will a 4g P2 record for?

Yes, you can record any of the camera's modes to P2. Just go by the rule of doubles to figure out how much you can record on a card at any given capacity:

DVCPROHD (1080 or 720/60) = 1GB per minute
DVCPRO50 (480) = 1 GB per 2 minutes
DVCPRO25 (480) = 1 GB per 4 minutes

So on a 4GB P2 card, you can get 16 minutes of standard DV. Throw two cards in the camera and you get a little more than half an hour. If they're 8GB cards, you've got an hour. Etc.

And two cards is what I have, thanks for the info Haakkon.
