GH2 Can the Japanese GH2 be hacked?

[dvxhutch]

Hey guys,

I just bought a GH2 off ebay, but the seller sent me a message saying:

"just before shipping,
we have to remind that what we sale of Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH-2 camera now is " JAPANESE INTERFACE LANGUAGE ONLY ",
and it can NOT change to other language,
in fact there's no language option in the menu at all.

Due to the unchangeable interface language option,
still buyer want to order this item ??"

Does hacking the camera provide English language options?

THANKS

Presuming you're going to use the hack, yes. There's an option "All Interface Languages" in ptool.
I have a Japanese GH1, and it works for that.

Thanks Geoff!

Yes I have one. Just a note, if you want to play around with different patches, be sure to always select the All Languages setting. If you don't, it reverts back to Japanese.
