can someone explain why i should keep waiting for my GH1 instead of the Canon T1i?

So I just noticed the Canon T1i which is out. I had not heard of this till today. I thought the only canon that did video was the 5d, which I could not afford. So can someone please tell me why I should keep waiting for my mystery delivery date GH1 instead of getting one of these? yes I see that i won't be able to do 1080p at 24fps. but that's okay, all I really need is 720p. Yes, its 30fps. But hasn't philip bloom proved that he has a great process for converting it to 24p? someone please give me some insight.

ahh, well i just did some research, looks like it has the problem the 5dii had, no manual controls in video.... wonder if this will get a firmware update just like the 5dii. other than that though, any thoughts?

The 720p mode is limited to 20fps (not a typo - twenty). The 30fps mode is 640x480. That's why everyone's ignoring this camera

it's 720 P at 30P
20P at 1080P
and no mic input

FAIL

but must say, if 24p is confirmed for the mark ii I'd get that over the GH1 since the firmware update.

The Ti is a joke!

The GH1 slams that camera in over all points....... If money is not the issue between them. Please do yourself a favor and pick the GH1 between those two; I believe you won't regret it.....

People hack canon firmware, and canon also did the right thing with 5d m2.

The only reason so far I head is that cus it sucsk so get gh1, any proof, pictures would be nice.

Usability counts for a great deal if you're using a camera in any kind of professional capacity or as an enthusiast. I think this often gets played down a lot, in favour of discussions on image quality. For me, the only really serious options in this respect for DSLR filming at the moment are the 5DmkII and GH1, what you choose between them is down to your personal likes and dislikes. The Ti might be a good, low cost second body option for the 5D, if that's the route you choose. I'm looking at the new Olympus EP-1 in the same way, as a second pocket cam, back up body to the GH1.
Really i'm amazed at the video quality of all these cameras, the only thing really setting them apart from each other are the control and frame rate options.
