I have been reading through a lot of the threads trying to rap my brain around the progressive/interlace 24P, 30P, 60i, etc. I use Avid Xpress DV (not pro), and most projects I do have been shot in 30P and I have never had the problem I had with the most recent project I did. I shot in 60i and captured into Avid. Everything looked fine as I played it in my sequence. I did an export as a QT reference into sorenson squeeze. I noticed when I compressed it into a Quicktime file for the web that there were interlace artifacts (at least i think thats what they were) (it looked like the grabs from this link.. http://www.dvxuser.com/cgi-bin/DVX2/YaBB.pl?board=Avid;action=display;num=1099500350 except it was way worse and jittery. I noticed there were times when I panned and it was jittery as well, although the original footage looks fine. When I view the QT reference file in the sorenson viewer, it does not look jittery, but it too had the interlace artifacts on it? I am trying to understand the whole timeline and squeeze settings with 24P, 30P and 60i. Avid timeline is 30i as my only choice (or PAL). Can anyone easily explain this to me?
