Can software cause renders to stop before finishing

Because some of my 4K renders started to stop and close the software and my purpose built editing PC got got slow slow rendering altogether it has been servised and i am told it is fine,but now having it back renders still stop and the render time is slow compared to what they have always been.Can the software [cyberlink power director 13]which has always worked fine for me be the problem,it just does not seem probable to me that the software can cause the PC to be slow rendering and close midrender.

Reinstalling the software has not helped,i tried sony vegas on a clip but its very slow as there is no option to choose a bitrate and each minute is over twice as large in GB size.
