Can I use standard SD (not HC) for storing/loading scene files?

I hate to waste one of my SDHC's for storing/loading scene files. If I get a small SD card can I use it for this?

Yes, you can use any SD card for Scene Files and Metadata Files.
Even MicroSD card with SD adapter.
