Can I use both dvm63mq and dvm63pq together in the same camera?

I'd like to buy the mq's but I'm afraid that when I run out, what will the effects be on the heads and the tapes if I should need to use the pqs?

Can I indeed mix these two since they are the both panasonic and good quality? Without damaging the recorded tape and the heads of my dvx100b?

This won't be a problem at all. The only time you have to worry about tape mixing is cross-brand, and even then it's only Sony that spoils the game. If you use Sony and only Sony, you'll be pleased. But if you use essentially any other brand, don't use Sony.

And to that, Panasonic, Maxxell, TDK, and Fuji are all pretty compatible. But brand loyalty is a good safeguard.
