Can I use a rode video mic on the dvx 100a I have a xlr plug for it plus a stereo plug-in for that it's all set up but I can't get audio from the mic ?

Help please anybody use this mic on the dvx before?

If I run my wireless mic into the xlr adp. and then the rode video mic into that it works for some reason but if I run the rode into the adp by itself it does not work .

i am not familar with that mic but you almost definitely want to use the xlr connector.

plug it into the xlr port marked #1

does this mic have an on/off switch? does it have a battery you put in it?

if so then take out battery/shut off switch and then look for the switch that says phantom power for xlr 1 (i forget the exact wording, i've handled the camera thousands of times and i just know where everything is and you get to a point where its automatic and you just don't read the markings)

but look for a place to set power for xlr 1 and 2

turn it on for 1

see if the mic works now.

one more thing to check, in the front of the camera there are two switches. one for xlr input 1 and one for xlr input 2

make sure xlr 1 is set for MIC and NOT line

this will probably be enough to get you working.

leave the wireless out of the setup for now.

just get the basic mic connection going before you try anything beyond that.

IF this doesn't fix the problem be specific about what happened if anything or if you weren't able to find something mentioned say so.

i could be more specific but i'm nowhere near my camera.

Still does not work this mic has a 9v everything you said still does not work I am going to email rode.

Off topic, but.....

Logic Films....

Is it really a film if you are shooting on the DVX, and your project stays in the video realm? The only reason I mention it is because you have a picture of the DVX in your logo, and if I were I client, I would find that contradictary.

Of course you are turning the mic on with the switch on the back of the mic, right?
