Can I still put filters/lenses on this camera? (Weird filter thread)

I bought a Canon MD205 recently and I noticed that the filter/lens thread on it is kind of funky..

It's made up of staight lines almost making a circle but not perfectly..

I could imagine it works but I just want to make sure before I waste money on adapters and what not.

As far as I am aware it says the thread suits 30mm diameter kits.

As you can see it's pretty weird..

Those straight lines are not the filter threads, it works as a non-reflective lens recess. You cannot screw into it without modding your camera or filters. It doesn't look like this camera has filter threads, if it did the specs would say the thread size.

Well the specs when I looked into it said 30.5mm but the "thread" on it is putting me off believe it.

I'm really dissapointed because it's a good wee camera.. I really love it.

How could I go about "modding" it to suit things like 35mm DOFA's and stuff?

If the camera possesses the ability to close focus and have a wide enough angle of view, then you can always have the 35mm adapters 'soft mounted'.
