Can I slo-mo 1080/24P?

No upscaling algorithm can replace lost details. I.e. a 720 image upscaled to 1080 will NEVER look as good as a true 1080 image (assuming that 1080 image was shot with an imaging system that can capture true 1080)
I think what we need is that technology shown movies, where men in black suits will take the footage from some crappy store CCTV camera, zoom in on the highly pixelated image of the villain, push the magic red button and have all the detail restored :)

An a more serious note, another option here is to shoot footage on a different camera, capable of 1080p @ 60fps. Not many of them around yet, but could be worth a look (new Panny HS700 for example). Or some high-end Varicam if you have the budget to rent one for a day or two.

Yeah I get that... the question is..,. if the section ISN'T for a slow mo (just my regular 720p footage) should I have the shutter at 50 or 100? (This is PAL.)

Since the FPS is already high, I wouldn't see much problem in using 50.

But I would opt for 100 anytime I'd like a more defined motion, less blurry.

Question: Doesn't the GH1 do 1/48 and or 1/120?

Man,

I just want to know if this is doable.

My 1080/24p footage looks great, but if I shoot in 720 for slo-mot will it look noticably inferior "when projected onto the big screen"?
