Can I shoot with anamorphic and use footage for 4:3 use later?

Hey guys,

I am currently in the midst of learning the ropes of the dvx 100b and it's capabilities for an upcoming project. I am planning to shoot a contemporary dance film starting the fall of next year. I have some major decisions to make and I am need of some answers, opinions, and things to consider. First I am unsure of what mode to shoot with. I like the look of film and I am definitely going to compose a few signature looks for the film. I am concerned that shooting in 24Pa will leave me with choppy footage at certain moments when movements are quite fast should this be a concern of mine ? I have seen very fast movement of film before and even then there is either motion blur or strobing but i know I am not exactly dealing with unlimited resources. any advice?

Secondly, my hopes are to submit this film to festivals at first and then after for television and dvd for commercial uses. Can I shoot with an anamorphic adapter and then some how squeeze 16:9 into 4:3 without the picture looking horizontally or vertically squeezed for viewers without 16:9 TV's?

Thanx,

David
