Hey guys,

Just got my HVX202 (PAL) today and have to say its absolutely beautiful. Cant film in 720 mode due to the fact there is no editing software here which can edit it. Really keen for some slow motion shots, how can I go about this? Can I shoot variable frame rates in 1080 mode?

Thanks in advance

If you dont mind to switch to pc, then there is a editing possibility for 720/pal canopus edius broadcast 4!

There should be a trial in the next weeks on the .com page of canopus..!

Are you on the PC? You can download the free trial version of Raylight and use it to import your variable-frame-rate 25p footage into Vegas or Premiere or Avid or any NLE...

I own both a PC and a Mac G5 (G5 is far more powerful). I dont think my PC will be fast enough to edit the HVX footage though. No way to do it on FCP on my G5? Is this scedueled to change anytime soon?

If you got enough storage and double speed is enough 1080i might be a good choise. Then you'll have 50 1440x540 interlaced fields per second, which you can slow down in edit to 25 progressive frames per second at 1440x540.
Compared to real resolution what the camera's chips can produce that can look better than 960x720 resolution you get with 720p, depending on what will be your master's resolution.
