Can I see the depth of field in Live View?

A question to 5DMKII owners:

I learned there is a Live View exposure simulation mode but this mode doesn't work when shooting video with full manual control. Only a so called "movie simulation mode" works.

So in manual video mode with a Canon lens does the 5DMKII show the depth of field in the Live View image? i.e. can the effect of altering the arperture be seen on the lcd? If not can it be seen with a manual Nikon lens?

Thanks, I don't have the camera (yet).
 
Thanks Morgan, this is great. I'm used to Nikon and their Live View doesn't change when I alter the arperture on the camera.
 
because it only stops down before taking a frame - the Canon just records the live view

(im talking motion of course)

dont know about LV and stills - havent taken any stills on my 5d2 - I have a d3 for that

You see exactly what you are recording - WYSIWYG.

The image on the LCD is the image you are recording.

If you have a large aperture with a shallow DOF - you will record a shallow DOF - and you will see a shallow DOF on the LCD.
