Can I record without clips (HVX200a)

I'm a news shooter and prefer editing with everything as one long file. Is there a way to record to a single mxf file or do I have to keep it as everytime i hit record it makes a new clip?
 
It's best that way. If you want to feel like you are editing with a single clip, just hit "Control A" and drag them to the timeline with one motion. :beer:
