Can I mount a 5D on top of the HVX without breaking it?

I want to shoot with a 5D or 7D on top of the HVX.

How do I best fix the 5D on top of the HVX?

Can the HVX flash mount carry a 5D with zoom lens?

I want to film with both (HVX and 5D) simultaniously on one tripod. To compare them, having variety for the edit and be able to react to situations when I need extreme shallow DOF.
 
yes i had a set up with my 300 2.8 with 2x and my 5d with the hvx200 . need a little threaded support to aim the front of my lens hood. i have a pic somewhere.
 
@jet: sounds interesting. Would be great to see the picture.
Did you just mount it on the flash mount of the HVX? What adapter did you use?
How did it work out, how was shooting with it?
 
For a lockdown shot, I used a small RAM mount. I could also have used an Ikan or something similar.. I used the thread mount on the HVX, further back along the handle.

It was OK for a little footage comparison... I went with the 5D's footy.
