GH4 Can I do Olympus 12-50mm firmware update with GH4

Hi
Just got my GH4, updated firmware to 2.2.
I see where my Olympus Digital 12-50mm lens has an update. Can I simply download the update and copy to a card, insert in my GH4 and do the update?

I'm slightly confused because it says here that "The firmware in this page can only be downloaded using the Panasonic camera body." (1st line on page): http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/pana/m_ed1250ez.cfm

The firmware is for the lens with pana cameras so maybe that's why it says that but I would still think you could download, save to a card and then do the update.

Opinions?

Here's mine:

I would be sure you actually have a problem with that lens and your Panasonic body before trying to update. I have that same lens likely with early firmware and have used it on the GH2, GX1, GX7, GH3, and the GH4 without seeing any problems. I haven't had to use any of the bodies in EX mode so don't know about that. I've even used the electic zoom while recording video and haven't noticed anthing that bothered me.

For firmware upgrades on Olympus bodies you have to have the camera connected to your computer which is then connected to their website over the internet using the Olympus Updater utility. I don't know what might be different for their lenses. I've heard of Oly bodies being "bricked" if something interrupts the process.

If the lens is working well with your GH4, I'd be inclined to leave "well enough" alone.
