Hi guys,

I used my GH1 to take some footage, however I didn't copy the "private" folder when I copied the footage to my computer. Is there any ways that I can convert AVCHD footage to ProRes 422 without the "private" folder?

Here's some info on just that: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?245025-Ingesting-MTS-files-without-Private-folder

On OS X, I use ffmpeg to convert the AVCHD MTS files to MOV. Run the following script in Terminal, it rewraps the video to Quicktime MOV while encoding the audio to stereo PCM:

ffmpeg -i xxx.MTS -vcodec copy -acodec pcm_s16le -ac 2 xxx.mov

I can then import the resulting MOV files straight into iMovie, which converts the H264 video to Apple Intermediate Codec for editing. I guess you could run it through FCP or another converter to get ProRes output.

MTS Converter
Using MTS Video Converter, you can convert MTS files into other popular video formats like AVI, MP4, MPG, WMV, FLV, MP3, WAV and etc. in order to play on iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, Zune, PSP, PS3, Creative Zen, Archos, and other Video

players and audio players.:tongue::D:smile:
