Can I combine 720 60p and 1080 24p in Avid?

I want to shoot a small film in 1080 24p and have some slow motion elements for twister shot in 720 60p on a canon t3i. Can I combine the two disparate frame rates and aspects into one timeline in Avid? Will the final result turn out well and usable? If it is possible what would be the best process and final frame rate and aspect? Thanks in advance.

Yes. But the 60p will be normal speed, unless you do the slow motion outside of Avid with After Effects...or you can do it inside Avid by doing what they lay out in this forum post:

For what end delivery? What will your mastering format be?
 
Hey Shane, thanks for the reply and the forum post link-although the link is not working. I was wondering if you could repost it somehow because I'd really like to read it. And the final delivery would be on a website and dvd. Thanks again.
