Can I capture footage from a Canon XH-A1 tape via a 100B or 200?

OK, I have an odd situation. A customer hands me two DV tapes that were apparently shot with a Canon XH-A1. I don't know what the settings were, but when I put them in my 100B to view or capture into FCP 7, I get the great blue screen on the camera and color bars or "can't find the camera" from FC. Perhaps these were shot in one of the HD formats that Canon uses with those tapes. Is there any possibility to get anywhere with this from one of my Panny cameras? Do I need to find something from Canon to upload those? It looks like FCP offers some HD options for log and capture, but they don't look like anything the Canon offers (assuming I understand its manual).

Puzzling.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

no. its most likely HDV and panasonic doesnt do HDV.

best advice if you dont have access to that camera is go rent one or a canon HDV deck. one of the things about HDV is that HDV from one company is not always compatible with HDV from another...
