Yeah. Modern 35mm lenses are all so good, I'm sure a set of Tokinas or Sigmas would be totally fine. It's just so cool that so many of these very fast 35mm lenses are fairly affordable (comparatively speaking). Yup, I'm really torn on this one. I'm a bit disappointed to hear that the noise levels on the HVX "are similar" to the DVX. But that slim depth-of-field is just so . . . SEXY. So much art can be created only with adept selective focus! I'm toying with the idea of using diopters to shoot all my dialogue with the 1/2" PDW-F330. Not sure it'll work. But if I reduce the focusing distance (from image plane to subject), you get VERY narrow depth-of-field. Just gotta see if the image size gets too big (it probably will). Need a full set of diopters of different powers. And those things are expensive for large-diameter filter sizes.lpcvideo1 said:NBC, I missed your hardware dillemas too. I learn more from your indecision than just about anything!
I'm with Taubkin with wondering how good a lens is needed for the ??35 solutions. I'd be nice to see footage when people can get their hands on both the camera and the adapters.[/I]"
