Can HDMI signal from GH4 be fed into DVI port in my monitor?

I know HDMI signal from my computer works on the monitor just fine. So I bought a Micro HDMI to HDMI female adapter but this way it doesn't works.. So I don't know if that is the adapter or the cable is not fitting, or indeed, the signal just won't work for DVI?

The GH4 puts out YUV encoded HD video. Your computer monitor will only recognize RGB encoded video. The cable is not the problem, it is just a pipeline that can pass many different kinds of video signals.

Oh, so it's not even possible? :o
I can swear to god I seen somewhere someone did connect it to a computer monitor.

I just really wanted to use this to experiment with the colour profiles cause having to transfer footage each time and not seeing the settings on screen is a really inefficient way to experiment even if by direct monitoring I don't see the effect of compression.

Some monitors will accept YUV video. But most computer monitors won't.

Only choice between RGB and YP[SUB]B[/SUB]P[SUB]R [/SUB]on mine -- so it means no chance to display GH4 output I reckon?
