Can GH2 record to a Nano flash???

From my initial testing, Yes. But so far you can only record 60i. When you enable 3:2 pulldown on the Nano Flash it does turn the incoming hdmi source into 24p when recording but the recording only goes 4 seconds then turns into a completely green screen.

Recording on an external device is problematic. The HDMI isn't really well suited to that task. It outputs 60i, not the video-standard 59.94i. That means that there will be duplicated fields in the signal every 1001 fields. Plus, there's no audio in the recording. And no timecode. And besides, the Nano costs 3x as much as the camera does anyway.

After playing around with it for a while, my conclusion is that it's not a practical option. Even if you somehow overcame the pulldown issue, it's still impractical.

Any updated please on this subject? Any hope to have this problem fixed by Panasonic soon?
At least, when recording with the Nano on the GH2, does it skip the compression that give awful Bloch noise in the shadows?

They're never going to "fix" what isn't really a problem in the design application of the camera, especially when it would compete directly with the AF100.

I'm really not sure why that isn't obvious. There are some particularly talented fantasists on this forum.

Haha... Panasonic "fixed" it to be a problem in the first place...

I don't like to support unfounded fantasies, but GH2 60i mode looke like real bug.
In LiveView mode sensor mode is exact 60p (on display, no one knows how they get 120p for focusing).
And HDMI output is fixed on 60i to accomodate this.
GH2 no longer use any HDMI dedicated chip (as it is integrated in LSI now).
But they need to switch output mode if they have technical possibility.

It's not that much of a problem so long as all the pixels are output at some point.

If they're skipping things entirely, then it's clearly not something that can be worked around.
