Can FCP do this ??

The guy that designed the intro to this video said it was done in After effects, are any FCP programs capable of doing this

After Effects has been the leader in this type of motion graphic. FCStudio's MOTION is a distant second, but I know quite a few that refuse to use AE and use Motion only. I'm not one of them. I'll use AE over Motion ANY time. Just the way I was brought up.

That said, FCP is an editing program... not so much a compositor or motion graphic design tool.

motion 3 is great, you should upgrade... I use both depending on the situation.

Entirely different approaches to compositing are represented by each application.

AE is definitely more robust, but has been around quite a bit longer.

Motion does some pretty cool things, and a good GPU allow near or RT previews -- something the AE still cannot achieve.

But tools are tools.

The opening can be easily achieved in Motion, especially with behaviors.

Yea I agree you can do that in Motion. Isn't that considered a form of Rotoscoping though?
