hello everybody!

I read heaps of stuff at this awsome forum, but never registered until now.
Im thinking about actually buying a dvx100b at last.

I was wondering if its possible to capture single frames on it, on the video streams? hence using it for animation and things like that, preferably via the remote, so that the camera can be perfectly still.
or is there an other way maybe?

thanks!

No, that function was eliminated on the "B" model...

That being said, there are ways to acomplish it. If you have a laptop, you can download software that will do interval recording and capture directly from your DVX to the laptop via the software.

hmm...strange that they would eliminate stuff on newer models. but now I know, thanks alot man!

do you know any good software for that?

DV Rack 2.0 works great. Has an onion skin mode as well for looking back on last frame semi-transparent to see if you remembered to move that left hand etc.

There is also a time lapse mode.

The advantage of using DV Rack is you geat waveform monitor and vector scope for regular shooting. No wear and tear on camera heads.
