GH1 Can a dvx member compete against a hollywood film?

Been a member of DVX for years, got great advice from fellow members, bought many instructional videos from this site, and not one person has checked out my film? You have to admit, that is disappointing. I was really looking forward to hearing from my peers.

You really don't want to hear from us, you want to hear from the general public because all we do all night and day is dream of the perfect movie. We would spend our time picking your movie apart, not because we want it to fail, but it's because that what filmmakers do !

I will purchase it VOD and watch it this weekend. Kinda busy right now with the day job and writing a script.

Lol. I believe you. Generally the general public loves it, but I'm looking for fellow filmmakers to give me their opinion. I know it's not perfect but if I can impress any of you guys I would be happy. Also, thank you very much for being willing to check it out!

As promised, just purchased from Amazon (once again they messed up shipping but hopefully getting it today). I will give feedback but can't guarantee when....

Indyreel

I was right, it's not my kind of flick. That being said, I watched the whole thing with great interest. First though, congratulations on a worthy achievement. To pull all of those elements together took some doing and detemination worthy of admiration. I certainly bonded with the main character and the fight sequences were very well done. I do have some other comments, but those I am sending via PM since I don't want to be the plot spoiler.

Well done and thanks for putting it out there and allowing me to support your effort.

Thank you very much for your support and your excellent input. I really appreciate it. Also I am encouraged that I was able to impress a fellow filmmaker!

STOP knocking at the doors of stuffy executives. Create your own VOD platform & monetize your video contents.
Don't worry about the INVESTMENT. Now few companies like Muvi Studio offers to build own branded VOD platform at ZERO CapEx within 24 Hrs. Just visit - www.studio.muvi.com & start selling your contents at your own Platform.

I just watched this movie.. Well worth the admission price. Great job. As good and entertaining as anything I've seen recently in the movieplex.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I've worked so hard on this, my first film, and am pleased that fellow artists like it!
If you don't mind my asking, which platform did you see it on?

Thank you again. It's always good to know which platforms are working.

I dont want to spoil it for anyone, but will there be a part two or will you be bringing back the lead detective in any other projects? I like the character and back story.

Yes, there will definitely be a part two. And the lead detective will reprise his role and you'll see just how skilled he is.
FYI - I played Det. Steve Teal in this production. Not for glory, but because I could not afford to pay anyone to put that many hours in. The actor who played Chief Matt Leavitt was suppose to be the lead, but we were only able to raise a fraction of our budget for this first film. He will be taking the lead in the next film, if we make our budget this time.

Your film looks good. Both my films are sold on Amazon and some local stores. I might go with VOD on the first film soon but have been pretty happy with sales. I have had plenty of people ask for VOD and also people asking if they can watch it on youtube for free! VOD is probably a good idea since not everyone will drop $15 on a DVD. Good luck with your films

Okay @Indyreel, I bought your movie (although I was too busy to watch it, sorry!), and I was wondering if you could provide some statistics as I'm trying to budget for a feature this summer. Some stats like percentage of sales over on-demand vs. DVD, time to break even (in weeks or months), etc. This is pretty personal information, but please share what you can :-).
