Camera That records directly to .FLV

[Jimwize]

My boss is looking for us to pick up a camera, that will record directly to h.264 with .flv file extension. without transcoding or post required. He is going to use student workers to rercord student speeches/presentations and classes. Then we are going to post them to our campus's streaming server. To avoid spending 10's of thousands on better software we are hoping to find a special camera.

Uhhhh.... I got to be honest, I don't think there are any cameras worth a damn that will shoot to that format. That is a real special order. FLV? I don't think I've heard of one that will do that...

Its not a camera but this software records the video to flv so I guess you could just plug a camera into a computer and hit record on the computer. I've never tried it before but it seems like it should be able to do what you're looking for and is only $14.

Official Adobe software to do that is free download from Adobe site.

Connect USB or firewire (can't recall which) and click record and it will record direct to flv.

WOW. That is a real suit request.

flv uses the on2 codec

f4v uses the h264 codec

Thanks alot guys. IDK why we didn't look harder for a software resolution. Now I'm going to figure out what lead me to think flv was an H.264 codec. I didn't believe there was a cam out there that does it but JVC has one that outputs .mov's so I thought I'd ask.
