Camera setting to make look darker, grundgy

I plan on renting the AG-DVX100a for a music video shoot. We have a lot of scenes at night, but do to budget, we need to get all the night shots, done in a certain period.

How should I set the scene settings to make the picture look darker/grungy during the day?

I am trying to avoid doing this at night so people can get some shut-eye, although I think I might be providing coffee to them anyways.

close the iris, mess around with color temp to make it more blue, turn down the master pedestal to negative numbers?

You get a darker, bluer, and more crushed black image that way, I think. I don't know how well the iris thing would work though.
