camera set to 50i problem

May be I am missing something but on my 152 I have the camera set to PH 1080.50i when I go to the time line in CS5 also in Edius and look at properties and I see frame rate is 25 I tried it atPH 1080 25p and PH 720/50p and on the 25p I get a frame rate showing as 25 and on the 720/50P I get a frame rate of 50. I am sure I am missing something here could someone put me straight:undecided
 
The 'frame rate' for 50i is 25, just as the 'frame rate' for 60i is 30 -- it takes two fields to make one frame, so interlaced video has half the field rate as the frame rate. 50p and 60p are different, in that there are no fields and so the 'frame rate' is as the name implies.
