Camera Plates - mount wanted

Looking for a solution here.

I use a camera plate (see link) permanently mounted to the rod base plate on my Af102

http://www.millertripods.com/produc...ries=&id=7&back_url=/product-type/accessories

These universal plates fit many fluid heads eg Cartoni, Millers, Satchlers ... and are a quick and convenient snap to the receiving spring loaded unit and are low profiled.

They are very coomon, easy to find and purchase.

Now I want to find a receiving unit that I can fit to my Slider head (Weaver Steadman) so I have the same snap to convenience when swithing camera from head to slider rig.

Some one may know of one but I have failed in all my searches .

Ah ha.

Thanx Stephen. That looks perfect ...price notwithstanding! .

Dont know how I missed those.

$100 of that is for the (Sachtler priced) plate which comes with it.
The Miller and Sachtler plates are the same size?

Shooter's correct, at least according to the Sachtler catalog. I don't read German, but there is only one part number for the combination of plate and base. Oh well, always nice to have a spare plate.

This one is from Miller.

Thats Miller one is different Eric.

The most cost effective solution and something I am considering because I already have one is...

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554151-REG/Manfrotto_357_357_Pro_Quick_Release.html

I would have one with the snap plate attached for the fluid heads and one permanently attached to the Slider head plate.

The camera base plate permanently attached to the Zacuto base on the camera

Slight down side for me is the camera profile is raised by 12mm but the bonus is I get that additional little plate sliding ability .

That Manfrotto system is a very tidy and very secure fit on the AF100 and I think that price is a bargain.

I have three of the Manfrotto QR stsyems. I don't like the way the knob on the adapter doesn't clear the body of the camera and you have to pull it out and reset it in order to tighten it. Not so quick.

I moved over to the Sony VCT-14 ENG QR plates and a Genus GL GAP Adapter Plate for the camera. I like this set up since I use a HPX 370 at work and can use the stations tripod when I shoot with the AF-100 on the heavier Miller and Sachtler tripods as well as a slider that has a high hat for a 100mm bowl. I wish it was lighter but thats about the only issue I have with the system.

My personal tripod is a Gitzo with a Miller 75mm bowl head.

Canon makes a light weight version for their cameras. Its a TA100. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-TA100-Tripod-Adapter-Camcorders/dp/B0002UMYBG

The camera plate would have to modified to work with non-Canon cameras but the QR plate is very nice. It cost about $150 so not cheap.

Yes Mitch, could you give us some links please?

And is there one for a Sachtler SB6? I found a Sachtler Mini Sandwich, but they're out if stock (and Sachtler prices, of course).
Thanks.

I hate all these competing plates/mounts/adapters/systems. I long for the days of a Beta QR plate and a whatever head wedge plate...

Model number or full product name would be helpful.
