Camera parented to Null - Motion Blur

I have a huge project I'm exporting (originally it was going to take 128 hrs to render), and I've added motion blur. I have my camera parented to a Null. Do I need to add motion blur to that layer (the Null)? I see that I can, but I don't want to choose the wrong thing, then have to render this out again. That's a waste of too much time. Thank you in advance.

I wish I could. This computer won't handle the render. I have to pass it off to someone else to have it rendered. He's busy working on other things, so I figured I'd try to get ahead one step. I'm building it in quarter resolution (half and third res give me the image buffer error, and I have to Purge All after every mouse click), so I'm not really seeing the motion blur as of right now.

Yeah... I just don't know. I'd say NOT to put it on the camera motion... just on the elements. But -- it wouldn't take me 129 hours to render either.

Maybe someone will have an idea.

I set up a project to check, and was surprised when there was no change at all checking or unchecking motion blur on the null. And more surprising was that if the background layer itself had motion blur ON (even though it's position did not change), there was blur, if it didn't their wasn't. Just that one layer, not the null, not the camera had to be checked on to see the blur. It's like the camera superseded the normal workflow, and once looking through the camera, motion blur was dependent on it's movement, rather than the other layers

Any layers NOT 3D layers did not have blur either.

Hmmm.

Yeah, rendered it out last night without the MB on the Null. Looks right. Though, apparently didn't matter, huh?

Thanks for the help on this.

What layers did you not have in 3d? Background? How did you get MB on it, then?
